Goals of The Posse Institute
The Posse Institute seeks to conduct and publish research on matters relating to access, leadership, diversity and retention in higher education. One of the primary goals of the Institute is to maintain and analyze The Posse Foundation’s unique data set and to ensure that as the Foundation grows, progress is tracked and best practices are shared. In addition, the Institute collaborates with experts in the field of higher education to explore issues of equity.

The PossePlus Retreat Report
Each year, The Posse Foundation facilitates weekend-long PossePlus Retreats (PPRs) for Posse partner colleges and universities. Retreats are attended by Posse Scholars, members of the larger student body, faculty and administration with the goal of discussing an important social or political issue identified by Posse Scholars. At each PPR, participants complete an extensive survey—designed by the Posse Institute—related to the retreat topic. Survey results are published in The PossePlus Retreat Report and disseminated to PPR participants; presidents, chancellors and other administrators of Posse partner colleges and universities; and members of the larger higher education community.
