Posse Reaches GiveNOLA 2023 Fundraising Goal
Posse New Orleans soared past expectations during last year’s 10th Annual Give NOLA Day celebration. With unwavering support from the community, Posse New Orleans raised $27,167, surpassing its $20,000 fundraising goal. This year, the site aims to raise $25,000.
Give NOLA Day is a 24-hour initiative organized by the Greater New Orleans Foundation and powered by Entergy. The yearly event “illuminates the impact of regional nonprofits, uniting individuals in a collective effort to strengthen the community.” Last year, Posse New Orleans stood out among more than 900 participating organizations for its exceptional fundraising success.
Since 2011, Posse New Orleans has secured over $78 million in scholarships for local students.
"Give NOLA Day wasn’t just about giving back to the community; it was a chance for Posse alumni to come together and reconnect,” said Tulane Alumna Sydney Monix. “Our alumni made a powerful statement on Give NOLA Day 2023!"
Alumni and supporters gathered for a day of celebration, complete with a lively crawfish boil and live music at Bayou Beer Garden. Over 50 Posse supporters and alumni gathered to contribute and celebrate the impactful work of Posse New Orleans and its Scholars. This year’s alumni programming for GiveNOLA Day hopes to replicate the energy of last year’s event.
Sherdren Burnside, the director of Posse New Orleans, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support.
