Casino Night Draws New Posse Supporters

Summer 2013 | Los Angeles

The Posse Los Angeles Leadership Council hosted the first Posse Los Angeles Casino Night in July at the 717 Olympic 8th Floor Clubhouse. Over 60 guests enjoyed a lively evening of classic casino games while learning about Posse. The event was generously sponsored by Mark Carlin, CBS Television Studios and the Southern California Gas Company.

“We really wanted to make sure we could spread the word about the great things The Posse Foundation does for students in the community in a fun and engaging way” said Diane Robertson, a member of the Posse Los Angeles Leadership Council. “The night was a definite success.”

In addition to the casino games, guests enjoyed a photo booth, drinks from Eagle Rock Brewery and El Dorado Rum, and a special prize drawing. The engaging event introduced 40 new contacts to Posse Los Angeles, many of whom expressed interest in volunteering for the Dynamic Assessment Process (DAP), Posse’s unique method for evaluating prospective Scholars.

“Casino Night was a great way to meet people in a fun, social environment,” said Eric Beckman, the chair of the Posse Los Angeles Advisory Board. “The Leadership Council came up with a great concept to attract new friends and supporters to Posse.”
