Posse New Orleans Raises $27K on GiveNOLA Day

Fall 2022 | New Orleans

Posse New Orleans raised $27,175 as a participant in GiveNOLA Day this past May.

Celebrated each spring as an initiative of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, GiveNOLA Day is an annual, regional day of charitable giving. As a returning participant this year, Posse New Orleans surpassed its initial $20,000 goal, proudly setting a new internal fundraising record for the 24-hour event.

GiveNOLA Day 2022 brought in a total of $7.9 million for the 947 nonprofit organizations that took part. This year’s event was supported by lead sponsors Entergy and Baptist Community Ministries.

“We are grateful for such a generous investment in our city's next generation of leaders.”

As part of the day’s celebration, Posse New Orleans hosted a community-building crawfish boil at Bayou Beer Garden, which raised more than $5,500 from attendees. Posse supporters enjoyed music and crawfish during this highly anticipated in-person event, gathering to show their appreciation for Posse New Orleans and Posse Scholars.

“GiveNOLA Day is such a special day for the city of New Orleans,” says Posse New Orleans Advisory Board member Angel King Johnson. “It is wonderful to be a part of an event that has such a huge impact on our community. We are so proud to have broken our fundraising record for Posse New Orleans.”

"GiveNOLA Day is all about investing in the promise and potential of our great city,” says Posse New Orleans Director Sherdren Burnside. “We are grateful for such a generous investment in our city’s next generation of leaders."
