Deloitte Leads in Investing Time, Talent and Resources in Posse’s Programming to Promote Scholars’ Success

Fall 2019 | National

Deloitte has been a top supporter of Posse for over 10 years. Boasting the largest multinational professional services organization, Deloitte has invested heavily in the Posse program, offering funding and in-kind donations totaling nearly $5 million since 2011.

The relationship with Deloitte exemplifies the many different ways corporate support can drive success for Posse from event sponsorship and board involvement, mobilizing employees as volunteers and recruiting Scholars for internships and full-time positions to hiring the Posse Consulting team to conduct compelling trainings for Deloitte professionals.

“Posse Scholars have become a critical part of Deloitte’s culture and the solutions we bring to our clients.”

“Developing and supporting diverse teams is critical to staying competitive and excelling in a dynamic marketplace,” says Deloitte US CEO Joe Ucuzoglu. “Posse provides a unique pipeline of young leaders from diverse backgrounds for organizations that view inclusion as a top priority.”

Most recently, Deloitte has sponsored Posse’s Alumni Leadership Conference, College Presidents Conference, and STEM Conference, which celebrated 10 years of the Posse STEM Program.

This past June, Deloitte was the lead sponsor and host of the first PossePlus Summit, which gathered Posse Scholars from across the country for a 2-day unique event including a townhall meeting about the state of the country at Deloitte University Leadership Center in Westlake, Texas.

In addition, Deloitte has sponsored the Posse Gala each year since 2011 and Power of 10 fundraisers in each of Posse’s 10 recruitment cities. In 2016 the Posse Gala honored Deloitte and the former Deloitte US CEO Cathy Engelbert accepted the Posse Star award on the firm’s behalf.

“Deloitte sets a gold standard for what Posse looks for in a corporate partner,” says Posse President and Founder Deborah Bial. “Deloitte does so much for Posse: assigning consultants pro bono to help with critical strategic thinking, providing space for major events, serving on Posse national board and each of our local boards, and funding at the highest levels. We are so grateful for their investment in our mission and belief in the promise of Posse Scholars.”

The relationship has expanded over the years, with each of the 10 Posse site advisory boards now including at least one Deloitte leader. Notably, Deloitte New York Managing Partner Steve Gallucci chairs the Posse New York Advisory Board and is a member of the National Board of Directors; Deloitte Principal Geoff Tuff serves on the Boston Advisory Board and leads the company’s pro bono consulting efforts with Posse.

Over 70 Posse Scholars and alumni leaders have been recruited over the past 10 years for full-time, internship, and early ID programs. Every year, over 200 Deloitte professionals serve as Posse volunteers.

“We are proud to support Posse and are fortunate to have many Posse Scholars join us as interns and full-time professionals,” says Ucuzoglu. “Posse Scholars have become a critical part of our organization’s culture and the solutions we bring to our clients.”
