Posse Los Angeles Welcomes 96 Outstanding New Scholars

Spring 2020 | Los Angeles

This past January, Posse Los Angeles welcomed new Scholars at the annual Awards Ceremony, held at L.A. LIVE’s Regal Stadium downtown. The event, sponsored by Shawmut Design and Construction, celebrated the accomplishments of the 96 newest Scholars, who were awarded more than $17 million in full-tuition leadership scholarships from Posse’s partner colleges and universities.

The ceremony included remarks by Posse President and Founder Deborah Bial, who welcomed the new Posse community members.

“These Scholars were part of a highly selective process,” she said on stage. “They are now part of a national movement.”

In addition to recognizing the hard work and dedication of the Posse Scholars themselves, the Awards Ceremony also paid tribute to families, friends and nominators who supported students through the selection process and encouraged their academic and extracurricular excellence.

After completing Posse’s eight-month Pre-Collegiate Training program, Scholars will matriculate at Posse Los Angeles partner institutions Bucknell University, Dickinson College, Hobart & William Smith Colleges, Kalamazoo College, Middlebury College, Northwestern University, Pepperdine University, Tulane University and University of Wisconsin-Madison.
