Power of 10 Event Raises $65K

Winter 2024 | Bay Area

Last fall, Posse Bay Area held its fifth annual Power of 10 fundraiser at Gallery 308 at Fort Mason Center overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. The event brought together over 80 Posse Bay Area alumni and supporters and raised over $65,000.

Centre College alum Adonis Logan, one of the evening’s honorees, shared remarks about his upbringing in Jamaica and being recruited for the Posse Scholarship. Adonis is now thriving as an analyst and the director of the Hyperion Fellowship intern program at Inclusive Capital Partners, a social impact-based hedge fund founded by former Posse Board Chair Jeff Ubben.

“Thank you for seeing something in me when I was 18,” Adonis said, reflecting on the impact of his Posse experience. “For teaching me to feel comfortable wherever I am. Whether it is from the perspective of an immigrant living in a bustling coastal city, a rural Midwest town, or now in the Bay Area, you gave me the skills to seek the similarities and embrace the differences.”

Posse Bay Area is grateful for all the sponsors who made this event possible: Wetherby Asset Management, Dechert LLP, Briana and Miguel Zelaya, Atlassian, Archipelago Companies, and Dodge & Cox.

“This year’s Power of 10 is a marker of the success of and excitement for Posse Bay Area,” says Joshua Fenton, the director of Posse Bay Area. “As the newest Posse site, we are excited to be making our mark in the Bay Area community and celebrating our Scholars.”
