Posse Bay Area Celebrates New Scholars

On January 26th, members of the Posse Bay Area community gathered at The Strand theater in San Francisco to welcome 40 high school seniors as new Posse Scholars.

Chosen from a pool of more than 500 candidates, the awardees have earned four-year full-tuition leadership scholarships totaling $8 million from the following Posse partner institutions: Boston University, Lehigh University, St. Olaf College, and University of Puget Sound.

“I thought that the awards ceremony was surreal at first,” says St. Olaf College Posse Scholar Jade Mac. “Seeing the proud looks of my family, friends, and school counselor—the ones who supported me throughout this whole crazy process—was a moment I’ll never forget. This is the beginning of a new part of my life that I am so excited to start with amazing people.”

This coming fall, Scholars and their respective Posses embark on lifelong experiences and relationships as they support each other through the undergraduate world and beyond.
