Posse Atlanta Welcomes New Advisory Board Members

Posse Atlanta welcomes Adrienne Figur, John O. Hudson III, Erin McCandless and Mary Stokes to its advisory board. Posse alumni Vanessa Alamo and Kiandra Smith have also joined the advisory board, part of their duties as representatives on the Posse National Alumni Advisory Council. The new members bring a broad range of skills and experience to contribute to Posse’s impact in the greater Atlanta area.

Adrienne Figur is a partner at EY, where she leads the US-Central region’s tax and finance operate practice. She serves as EY’s leader for numerous public and private global and domestic clients headquartered in the southeast or overseas.

“I strongly believe in Posse’s mission of providing the opportunity and empowerment for diverse, talented students to work together to create a better future for all of us,” Adrienne says. “The diversity that students are exposed to through Posse prepares them to lead. The need for inclusion and focus on a better world has never been more important to me and to society.”

John O. Hudson III was recently named president and chief executive officer of Nicor Gas, an Illinois based subsidiary of Southern Company. While in this role, John will continue to serve as executive vice president of Southern Company Gas headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, where he maintains responsibility over corporate market strategy and remains a member of the Southern Company Gas Management Council. John serves on various corporate and nonprofit boards, and he is a member of the Leadership Atlanta class of 2020.

The new members bring a broad range of skills and experience to contribute to Posse’s impact.

Erin McCandless is vice president and deputy general counsel for Cox Automotive, Inc. She serves as advisor to Cox Automotive’s senior leaders and works with the General Counsel to determine the company’s overall legal strategy to mitigate risks, source and manage legal services, and develop proactive legal initiatives and training. Erin also leads a team responsible for day-to-day operational legal matters.

Mary Stokes is the managing director and regional investment executive for Bank of America Private Bank. She is responsible for the delivery of investment management services, coaching and developing portfolio strategists, and compliance and risk management oversight. Mary serves several institutional clients and delivers fiduciary investment solutions to nonprofit endowments and foundations.

“I joined the Posse Atlanta Advisory Board to further my passion for educating our youth,” says Mary.

After graduating from Brandeis as a Posse Scholar, Vanessa Alamo supported the Posse Atlanta office as the assistant to the site director. She is currently a client associate with Merrill Lynch. Kiandra Smith, a Posse alumna of The College of Wooster, is currently pursuing a doctorate in biomedical sciences at Morehouse School of Medicine.
