Posse Atlanta Power Of 10 Raises More Than $260K

Winter 2018 | Atlanta

Posse Atlanta celebrated 10 years of service to the local community during its annual Power of 10 held this past October at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Nearly 200 of Posse Atlanta’s corporate and foundation supporters, individual donors, alumni and volunteers gathered to celebrate the milestone and raise funds for the program.

Thanks to Posse Atlanta’s generous community, this year’s event raised more than $260,000—the highest amount ever raised for this annual celebration.

The evening opened with a moving tribute of music and spoken word performed by Posse Atlanta alumni. The program included words from Posse Atlanta Director Zenith N. Houston, and Jeff Abbott, executive vice president of the global channel business unit for Infor and chair of the Posse Atlanta Advisory Board.

Guests also heard from Posse Atlanta Alumnus Marcel Baugh, a 2013 graduate of The College of Wooster. Marcel is one of three Atlanta Scholars to receive the Posse Graduate School Fellowship to pursue a master’s degree from the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Washington. He is now a legislative assistant for the Washington State Senate and the co-chairman of the Seattle Human Rights Commission.

Posse Atlanta also honored Stephanie Blank, founding chair of Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students (GEEARS). As trustee of The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, Stephanie led efforts to bring Posse to Atlanta and provided significant funding for the office’s opening in 2007.

In fitting celebration of the 10th anniversary, Stephanie was honored for her ongoing support, which has helped Posse enrich the lives of hundreds of metro Atlanta Scholars and open the door to numerous possibilities.

Posse Atlanta is grateful for all of our supporters, including the event sponsors, for their significant contributions to the night’s success. Posse Atlanta extends special thanks to the 2017 Power of 10 sponsors:
