Posse Atlanta Hosts Annual Alumni Holiday Party

Spring 2025 | Atlanta

Posse Atlanta hosted its annual Alumni Holiday Party at Eclipse di Luna in Buckhead in December, with nearly 70 alumni in attendance. Posse alumni from Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Miami and New York turned out to celebrate the holidays and connect with their Posse family. New York Posse alumna Kayla Thompson is finding community through Posse in her new home of Atlanta, where her family relocated while she was enrolled at DePauw University. Upon settling in Atlanta after graduation, Kayla reached out to the Posse New York office to connect with the Atlanta site. Kayla remembers attending her first Posse Atlanta event, the Power of 10 fundraiser.

“It was really fun and reignited my drive for Posse,” she said. “It was such a beautiful, welcoming and intimate event and reminded me why I wanted to be a Posse Scholar in the first place.”

Meeting other alumni at Power of 10 made Kayla excited to attend more Posse events. At the holiday party, she made meaningful connections.

“Even though I was not in New York with my Posse, I felt so back at home during the holiday party and still a part of the Posse organization,” she said. “I enjoyed meeting older Posse alumni as well. I’m in DePauw Posse 22, so it was impressive to meet Scholars from Posse 1s and 2s who are still coming down and showing out!”

Being in a new city, Kayla initially felt apprehensive. “I was shy about putting myself out there. A lot of networking events can feel transactional, but with Posse, it was a genuine networking event. I always feel safe with Posse.”

Representatives from the Posse National Alumni Advisory Council (PNAAC) worked hard to make the night a success and enjoyed seeing everyone come together for a festive evening. Another alumnus in attendance, Atlanta native Robert Dinkins Jr., described his experience as “an opportunity to connect [because] Posse doesn’t just end after graduation. It’s for a lifetime and gives you a chance to make connections for the future.”
