Pepperdine Alum Wins Coveted HACR Achievement Award

Spring 2026 | Los Angeles

Pepperdine University alum Christopher Hidalgo (Class of 2021) is among the youngest recipients of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility’s (HACR) Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever Award, an honor recognizing emerging leaders making an impact in their industries and communities.

Each year, HACR selects a small group of nominees—put forward by leading Fortune 500 companies—to participate in a leadership and management program. Over several months, participants engage with senior executives through mentorship, training, and cross-industry collaboration. Christopher describes the experience as “a return to the kind of transformative environment that challenges you to grow—this time alongside leaders shaping the future of corporate America.”

Nominated by Bank of America, Christopher was recognized for both his professional contributions and his work beyond the firm.

He is the founder of Healthcare For Hispanics, an initiative focused on improving access to bilingual healthcare while equipping providers with tools to better manage and sustain their practices.

“I created Healthcare For Hispanics because I believe access to care should never be limited by language,” Christopher says. “What began as a way to connect patients with bilingual doctors quickly revealed a deeper challenge—many physicians face a different barrier: the language of finance.”

I created Healthcare For Hispanics because I believe access to care should never be limited by language.

That insight has shaped the platform’s evolution. In addition to connecting patients with providers, the initiative now supports healthcare professionals with financial tools and operational insights, allowing them to focus more fully on patient care. Christopher describes his long-term vision as building systems that give providers “a banker in their pocket.”

Christopher’s path to this work was shaped by a longstanding interest in healthcare, technology, and service. During his time at Pepperdine University, he explored those interests while also engaging in community-building initiatives and volunteer work, including more than four years at Huntington Hospital in his hometown of Pasadena. He initially pursued a pre-med track before pivoting to business, recognizing the broader systems-level impact he could have through finance.

“What’s always stayed with me is the real-world impact of what we do,” Christopher says. “The businesses we support—whether in healthcare, agriculture, or aerospace—go on to serve millions of people. Being part of that system is incredibly meaningful.”

With support from Posse Los Angeles, Christopher earned a full-tuition Posse Scholarship to Pepperdine and secured early internship experiences with Deloitte and Bank of America, gaining exposure to industries ranging from real estate to technology. He joined Bank of America following graduation and has since built experience across asset-based lending, commercial banking, and investment banking.

Posse connected me to incredible opportunities, including internships with partner organizations like Deloitte, which helped launch my career.

In his role, Christopher has worked on a range of complex transactions, including advising on capital raises, supporting mergers and acquisitions activity, and helping companies navigate debt capital markets. His experience includes work across industries such as aerospace, retail, and manufacturing, where he has supported financing strategies ranging from asset-based lending facilities to structured capital solutions.

Despite the demands of his career, Christopher continues to invest in Healthcare For Hispanics, viewing it as a long-term platform for expanding access and strengthening small business infrastructure within healthcare.

“As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries, I believe the future of small business will be powered by intelligent financial systems,” he says. “My goal is to help build a world where every healthcare professional has the tools and insights they need to thrive.”

Christopher credits his success to the support systems and mentorship he found through Posse and its partner network.

“I’m grateful to Posse for the support I received throughout my time at Pepperdine,” he says. “They connected me to incredible opportunities, including internships with partner organizations like Deloitte and Bank of America, which helped launch my career.”
