Tulane Alumni Build Cybersecurity Business, Invest in Local Community

Olymar and Miguel Solis are building something bigger than a business—they’re creating opportunity. As co-founders of Huntrix, a cybersecurity consulting firm specializing in fractional security services, offensive security, and penetration testing, the couple has already achieved early profitability and continues to expand their reach.

But for Olymar and Miguel, success isn’t measured by growth alone. Deeply rooted in New Orleans, they are equally committed to strengthening their local community. Recognizing the city’s wealth of untapped cybersecurity talent, they invest their time in mentorship and workforce development, helping open doors for aspiring professionals.

Their proudest achievement so far reflects that mission: Huntrix’s mentorship program, which has supported New Orleans-based young professionals in breaking into the cybersecurity field and building meaningful careers.

Their journey together began in high school in New Orleans, but it was as Posse Scholars at Tulane University that their partnership truly took shape. Miguel graduated in 2021 with a degree in cybersecurity, followed by Olymar in 2022 with degrees in psychology and sociology. Soon after, they married, bought a home, and launched Huntrix—laying the foundation for both a shared life and a shared vision.

“Posse has been instrumental in our lives,” Olymar said. “I’m not sure where we would be without it. The education I received at Tulane has been invaluable, and the connections we’ve made through the Posse network are powerful.”

Miguel echoed that sentiment: “I was always ready to work hard, but without Posse, I’m not sure I would have gone to college. It opened my eyes to what’s possible in my career. Everyone at Posse supports me, and it gave me the confidence to believe I can do big things.”

As they look ahead, Olymar and Miguel remain focused on scaling Huntrix while continuing to invest in New Orleans’ growing cybersecurity ecosystem. Their vision is clear: build a successful company while creating pathways for others to succeed alongside them.
