Tulane Alumni Elevate Cybersecurity

Olymar and Miguel Solis are working together on multiple fronts. Professionally, they have teamed up to co-found Huntrix, a cybersecurity consulting firm offering fractional security services, offensive security and penetration testing.

The couple is proud to have built the company to early profitability and to be continuing its growth. Even more important to them, however, is their investment in the New Orleans community. They recognize the depth of cybersecurity talent in the local workforce and are committed to nurturing it by dedicating time and effort to its development and to creating new opportunities.

When asked to name their greatest accomplishment, Miguel and Olymar shared that, to date, Huntrix’s mentorship program has successfully supported young professionals in New Orleans develop their career and break into the industry.

Olymar and Miguel first crossed paths as high school students in New Orleans, but they truly connected as Posse Scholars at Tulane. After graduating from Tulane—Miguel in 2021 with a degree in cybersecurity and Olymar in 2022 with degrees in psychology and sociology—the couple married, purchased a home, and launched their business.

Olymar shared, “Posse has been instrumental in our lives. I’m not sure where we would be without it. The education I received at Tulane has been invaluable, and the connections we’ve made through the Posse network are powerful.”

Miguel added, “I was always ready to work hard, but without Posse, I’m not sure I would have gone to college. It opened my eyes to what’s possible in my career. Everyone at Posse supports me, and it gave me the confidence to believe I can do big things.”

Miguel and Olymar are excited to continue growing their business while remaining focused on contributing to the expansion of the cybersecurity industry in New Orleans. They see tremendous opportunity to create pathways for others while building a successful company in a city they are proud to call home.
