Miami Awards Ceremony Celebrates 60 New Posse Scholars

Winter 2022 | Miami

Posse Miami welcomed 60 new Posse Scholars at this year’s virtual Awards Ceremony, presenting over $13.9 million in full-tuition leadership scholarships from six partner schools: Davidson College, Franklin & Marshall College, Hamilton College, Mount Holyoke College, Pomona College, and Syracuse University.

The new Scholars will matriculate with the Class of 2026 this fall, having been selected for their extraordinary leadership potential from a pool of more than 1,200 South Florida high school senior nominees.

January’s online Awards Ceremony event convened the Miami Scholars along with family and friends, Posse staff, donors and college partners. Posse President and Founder Deborah Bial also attended virtually, as did representatives from all six college partners who were present to welcome the Scholars.

The new Scholars will matriculate with the Class of 2026 this fall.

The newest cohorts of Posse Scholars have since started Pre-Collegiate Training (PCT), an eight-month program that includes weekly Posse meetings, leadership development, team-building workshops, and academic preparation. PCT ensures that Posse Scholars arrive on campus ready for classes and student life, setting them up for future success.

With the admission of the Class of 2026, Posse Miami is proud to have supported 678 Scholars since Posse expanded to the city in 2009.
