Chicago Power of 10 Honors Ginny Clarke, Raises Nearly $300K

On October 29, 2013, more than 250 guests gathered for Posse Chicago’s eighth annual Power of 10 fundraiser at the Chicago Cultural Center. This signature Posse event honored Virginia “Ginny” Clarke for her steadfast support of Posse Chicago and also celebrated the chapter’s growing alumni community. The event raised nearly $300,000 for Posse Chicago.

Ginny, a partner at international executive search and consulting firm Amrop Knightsbridge, is the author of Career Mapping: Charting Your Course in the New World of Work. She has led numerous workshops for Posse Scholars and alumni on career mapping. During the evening’s program, Ginny spoke about the importance of providing educational opportunities for Chicago youth and developing the next generation of talented, diverse leaders. 

The event program also highlighted the strength, perseverance and power of a Posse. Alumna Tina Park, supported on stage by a Posse of 10 alumni, shared how her Posse was instrumental in keeping her on campus after losing both grandparents shortly after she matriculated at Denison University.

“This network gave me the key to a door of possibility and support,” said Tina. “I am forever connected to people who have gone where I wanted to go and are going where I want to be.\"

This year, over 50 Posse alumni attended the event, making a powerful statement regarding their commitment to giving back to Posse.
