Annual Golf Outing Hosts Top Companies, Raises $84,000

Summer 2016 | Atlanta

On May 23, Posse Atlanta held its fourth annual Golf Outing at Atlanta National Golf Club, co-chaired by King & Spalding Partner Paul Murphy and Tanger Consulting CEO Chel Tanger. More than 70 guests from Atlanta’s top companies joined Posse Atlanta for a day of friendly competition that raised more than $84,000 to support Scholars.

“Posse is such a positive and effective agent to broaden the face of leadership in our communities by providing an unmatched collegiate educational experience to those young people whose talents might have otherwise been overlooked in the traditional secondary education process,” said Paul Murphy.

“To be part of an event that is able to raise substantial funds for those students who represent the future of our communities and businesses was very rewarding,” said Chel Tanger.

Jacob Friesen Grant, a member of Atlanta’s first Posse to graduate from Syracuse University, shared his experience as a Posse Scholar during the cocktail reception. While at Syracuse, Jacob and some of his Posse members founded Project GRIND (Greatness Resides in Nonstop Dedication), which offers mentorship to young men in the Syracuse area.

“Getting the Posse Scholarship made me realize how much love and support I have received,” said Jacob. “I decided to use my network and resources to empower the next generation.”

Posse Atlanta is truly grateful to our sponsors and supporters for their commitment to helping us develop the next generation of leaders.
