61 Posse D.C. Scholars Earn $15 Million in Full-Tuition Scholarships

Spring 2026 | D.C.

Posse D.C. welcomed 61 new Posse Scholars at this year’s Awards Ceremony, presenting over $15.2 million in full-tuition leadership scholarships from six partner schools: Bucknell University, Lafayette College, Lewis & Clark College, Sewanee: The University of the South, University of Rochester, and University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The new Scholars will matriculate with the Class of 2026 this fall, having been selected for their extraordinary leadership potential from a pool of more than 1,600 D.C. area nominees. January’s Awards Ceremony event convened the selected D.C. Scholars in the historic Lincoln Theater with family and friends, Posse staff, donors and college partners. Representatives from all six college partners were present to welcome the Scholars.

The newest cohorts of Posse Scholars have since started Pre-Collegiate Training (PCT), Posse’s eight-month program that includes weekly meetings, leadership development, team-building workshops, and academic preparation. PCT ensures that Posse Scholars arrive on campus ready for classes and student life, setting them up for future success.

"The awards ceremony represents the culmination of all the hard work the selected Scholars have put in during their high school journeys, and an opportunity to look forward to their futures as leaders on campus and in the workforce,” says Posse D.C. Director David Barber. “We are so proud of the selected Scholars and congratulate them and their families on the wonderful achievement."

With the admission of the Class of 2030, Posse D.C. is proud to have supported 1,195 Scholars since the opening of the site in 2004.
