Travelers Hosts Scholars for Job Shadow Day

The Travelers Companies, one of the nation’s largest insurance providers, hosted 10 Scholars for Posse Atlanta’s annual Job Shadow Day. The intimate event introduced Scholars to different career possibilities.

The day’s events included discussion panels with representatives from Travelers’ metro-Atlanta office. Brandeis University Posse Scholar Karina Ayala-Casanova and several other interns also shared their experiences with visiting Scholars to provide an overview of their roles and responsibilities and the company culture.

“I really enjoyed Job Shadow Day,” says Amber Abernathy, a first-year business major at Brandeis University. “I got a perspective on what it’s like to be in that type of work environment, and also the benefits and options that are available at Travelers. I liked hearing about Travelers’ values, and realized that I would really like to be a part of a company like this in the future.”

Travelers supports Posse on a national level as a corporate donor, Career Program partner and event sponsor. In addition to Posse Atlanta’s Job Shadow Day, the company has also sponsored the chapter’s annual golf outing.

“Travelers has been such a strong, supportive partner for us in myriad ways,” says Posse Atlanta Director Zenith Houston. “Scholars absolutely love their experiences when they intern for Travelers during the summer. We’re very grateful for all of Travelers’ engagement and support for Posse Atlanta.”
