Power of 10 Celebrates Growth of Posse Los Angeles
In October 2013, Posse Los Angeles hosted its fourth annual Power of 10 fundraiser at the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. The intimate networking event celebrated the accomplishments of Scholars and alumni from Los Angeles.
Posse Los Angeles graduated its largest class of Scholars to date in 2013—with six Posses earning diplomas. These recent graduates are now part of the network of more than 250 Los Angeles alumni in graduate school and the workforce.
Chris Hanuscin, a first-year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, shared how his Tulane University Posse supported him as an undergraduate.
“Without Posse, I do not believe I would be where I am today or have had the college experience that I had,” said Chris. “I played football, was vice president for two different organizations, and was a cell and molecular biology major. I could always turn to my Posse when I needed someone—they were definitely my family.”
Lee Hutter, master of ceremonies for the evening and a member of the Posse Los Angeles Advisory Board, spoke about the continued growth of Posse Los Angeles and thanked guests for their continued support of promising young leaders. In 2013, with 11 college and university partners, Los Angeles received nearly 2,200 nominations for 110 Posse Scholarships.
“I can’t thank the Advisory Board enough, especially the leadership of Lee Hutter, for helping to make this evening a huge success,” said Tamara Craver, the director of Posse Los Angeles. “It means the world to us to have continued support from members of the business community.”
