Posse Chicago Welcomes New Advisory Board Members

Winter 2015 | Chicago

Posse Chicago is thrilled to announce the addition of two members to its advisory board: Julie Parsons, the product senior vice president for Allstate Insurance, and Robert Byron, the chairman and co-founder of Blue Vista Capital Management.

At Allstate, Julie is responsible for auto insurance product management, which represents over $17 billion worth of business. She also is the sponsor for the Young Professionals Organization at Allstate and the Enterprise Diversity Leadership Council. Additionally, she has been a great advocate in strengthening the Career Program partnership between Posse Chicago and Allstate.

“Posse has a tremendous multiplier effect,” says Julie. “Posse enables talented young people to become future leaders. If you think about all the people those Posse Scholars will touch throughout their lifetime, along with all the volunteers and dedicated partner schools and companies who are changed by their experiences with Posse, the positive impact we can have is huge.”

Robert Byron sits on the Blue Vista Capital Management investment and management committees and is responsible for developing relationships with new partners and capital sources for all of the firm's funds. Immediately prior to forming Blue Vista, Mr. Byron held the position of chief investment officer for the McShane Corporation, a Chicago-based development and construction company. He has also held senior positions with Jones Lang LaSalle and LaSalle Investment Management.

Robert received both his bachelor’s and law degree from the University of Virginia. He is an emeritus member of the university’s College of Arts and Sciences Foundation Board and participates in the Jefferson Scholarship Foundation program. He serves on the board of directors of the Chicago Community Loan Fund.

Robert is a Posse career coach and is also on the planning committee for the 2015 Posse Chicago Golf Outing.

“I was looking for a place where I can truly make a difference,” says Robert. “An organization where I can roll up my sleeves, and where I will find peers who share a similar passion for helping young people achieve their potential. Posse is that place.”
