Posse Chicago Hires New Director, Asaf Bar-Tura

Winter 2014 | Chicago

Posse Chicago is proud to introduce its new director, Asaf Bar-Tura. Before joining Posse, Asaf worked for the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs for six years, most recently serving as their director of programs. In that role, he led projects aimed at fostering relationships and communication between different cultures and supporting communities to carry on the work on their own.

Asaf's other previous experience includes leading the after-school programming at the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center which served over 300 students in the Bronx, New York. Prior to that, he was a lieutenant in the Israeli military and concluded his service as a programs evaluation specialist. He received his B.A. in philosophy, politics and government from Ben-Gurion University in Israel, earned a master's in political theory at Loyola University in Chicago and is currently completing his doctorate in political theory at Loyola.

“We are thrilled to welcome Asaf to Posse,” says Posse Chief Operating Officer Matthew Fasciano. “His leadership background and commitment to serving youth will be a tremendous asset to Posse Chicago.”
