New York Scholars Win Prominent Fellowship Awards

Fulbright Scholar Yanique Anderson, a 2015 Trinity College Posse graduate.

Posse New York proudly congratulates its more than 20 Scholars and alumni who won competitive fellowships and scholarships this year. These impressive individuals were selected to bring their talents to research projects, teaching assistantships in foreign countries, study abroad opportunities and top graduate programs.

Yanique Anderson, a 2015 graduate of Trinity College, won a Fulbright Scholarship to research restorative justice in Norway, a country known for its low recidivism rates. After her Fulbright year, she plans to earn her M.S.S.W. and continue working in underserved and underrepresented communities.

“I hope to enhance my understanding of restorative justice and to gain insight into the conditions that are necessary for improving an ex-offender’s chances of successfully acclimating back to society,” says Yanique. “This research is the first step in preparing me for a future in advocacy and policy practice.”

Like Yanique, Posse New York’s fellowship and scholarship winners will use these opportunities to enrich their education and advance their careers.
