Largest Cohort of Chicago Scholars Graduates from College

This year, nearly 100 Scholars from Chicago graduated from top colleges and universities, joining a national Posse Alumni Network of thousands. Posse lauds their positive impact in the community and their 90 percent persistence and graduation rate. We are excited to share some of the exciting post-graduation plans of Posse Chicago’s largest cohort of graduates to date.

Fellowships + Honors

Andrea Luna, Connecticut College
Andrea, as a result of her exceptional scholarship and community activism, is the recipient of Connecticut College’s Anna Lord Straus Medal, annually presented to one graduating senior “who has done outstanding work in public and community service, including service to the College.”

Corey Fayne, Pomona College; Anthony Harb, Carleton College; William Schrieber-Stainthorp, Trinity College; Celeste Zatarain-Alsina, Denison University
Corey, Anthony, William and Celeste are each recipients of prestigious Fulbright Scholarships, awarded annually to competitively selected U.S. citizens to study, conduct research and exercise their talents abroad. Corey, Anthony, William and Celeste will travel to Korea, Spain, Malaysia and Venezuela, respectively, as part of the program.

Ashanti Soldier, Carleton College
Ashanti is the recipient of a prestigious Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, which offers “college graduates of ‘unusual promise’ a year of independent, purposeful exploration and travel in international settings new to them.”

Graduate School

Anisha Bhat, Pomona College
Anisha will pursue a Master of Philosophy in world history at the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England. Anisha was awarded the highly-competitive Gates Cambridge Scholarship, a program that “aims to build a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.”

Saliba Ishaq, Denison University
Saliba will pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.

Jocelyn Reaves, Connecticut College
Jocelyn will pursue a Master of Public Health from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts.
