Exelon Hosts Posse Chicago Internship Celebration

Fall 2014 | Chicago

On July 31, Posse Chicago held its annual Internship Celebration, which was generously sponsored by Exelon Corporation, the nation’s leading competitive energy provider. More than 100 guests gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of Scholars who interned over the summer and the invaluable opportunities provided by Posse’s Career Program partners.

“The Internship Celebration is a recognition of hard work,” says Javier Vazquez, a junior at Pomona College who has interned for Exelon, Deloitte and True Value Company. “Posse truly prepared me to excel in both academic and professional settings and my internships have contributed to my development in countless ways.”

Posse Chicago is grateful to its Career Program partners who provide Posse Scholars with the opportunities needed to secure the most competitive and career-enhancing internships and jobs.

Exelon Corporation and its foundation have been investing in The Posse Foundation since 2009. The partnership expanded in 2013 as Exelon became an official Career Program partner and Jonathan “Jack” W. Thayer, Exelon’s chief financial officer, joined the Posse Chicago Advisory Board.

“Exelon is proud to partner with The Posse Foundation,” says Jack. “We need diverse perspectives to achieve results, and The Posse Foundation provides us with Scholars who have the training, background and skills to get us there.”
