Exelon Energizes Posse Chicago Career Program, Advisory Board

Exelon Corporation, the nation’s leading competitive energy provider, and its foundation have been investing in The Posse Foundation since 2009. The partnership expanded in 2013 as Exelon became an official Career Program partner and Jonathan “Jack” W. Thayer, Exelon’s chief financial officer, joined the Posse Chicago Advisory Board. 

“The Posse Foundation extends high potential public high school students the opportunity to excel by providing them a very powerful tool: a network of trusted peers,\" says Jack, an alumnus of Posse partner institution Middlebury College. “Posse’s mission is aligned with a goal both Exelon and I share to promote the inclusion of diverse perspectives in a high-performance environment.” 

In its first summer as a Career Program partner, Exelon hired four Posse Scholars for internship positions ranging from human resources to finance. Additionally, Colby College Posse alumnus Saboor Sheerazi was hired as an associate financial analyst, and he also is involved in the diversity and inclusion programs at Exelon. 

“To join a company that values diversity and is working to improve the corporate landscape is exciting,” says Saboor, who is finalizing a diversity initiative for Exelon. “I’m proud to help spark that dialogue.”
