Chick-fil-A Hosts Career Conference for Atlanta Scholars

Winter 2014 | Atlanta

In January, Posse Atlanta’s annual Winter Career Conference was hosted by Chick-fil-A at their corporate headquarters in Atlanta. More than 80 Scholars attended the conference, a record turnout, to participate in professional development workshops and network with accomplished business leaders.

“We loved hosting the Posse Scholars," says Gloria Cox, the associate director of programming at the Chick-fil-A Foundation." For being on 'break' these students were still incredibly engaged and professional. We appreciated the opportunity to connect with the next generation of leaders.”

The conference offered an array of workshops facilitated by entrepreneurs and representatives from successful companies such as 11 Alive, Liquid Soul Media, Alston and Bird, Turner and The Princeton Review. Scholars chose from among 15 sessions, such as “Extreme Makeover: How to Make a Splash in Social Media,” “STEAM: The Art of Science,” “The Future of Business,” and “The Secret Keys to Success.”

“The winter conference offers a unique opportunity for leaders from the Atlanta business community to share insights about their career experience and opens the door for Scholars to explore new career opportunities,” says Zenith Houston, the director of Posse Atlanta.

Posse Atlanta is grateful to the generous professionals who facilitated workshops and to the Chick-fil-A team, especially Associate Director of Programming Gloria Cox and Strategic Events Consultant Jack Lowe, for organizing a fantastic event.
