Advisory Board Members Host Houston Friend-Raisers

As the Posse community grows in Houston, the Posse Houston Advisory Board continues to play a pivotal role. This spring, advisory board members Carol Wood and Scott McClelland hosted receptions to introduce The Posse Foundation to influential education, corporate and community leaders.

Carol, a partner with King and Spalding, hosted a reception at her home for almost 30 guests. The event included remarks from Vanderbilt University Posse alumna Vanessa Egerton Shelton and Dickinson University Posse alumnus Juan Carlos Flores. Vanessa also spoke at a similar reception hosted by Scott McClelland, the president of H-E-B Houston, a Texas-based supermarket chain with over 350 stores in Texas and Northern Mexico.

“This was a fantastic event that introduced the Posse Foundation to a number of notable leaders in Houston,” says Carol. “The alumni speakers really gave the guests an inside look at the remarkable impact that Posse has for Scholars.”
