Notre Dame, Villanova Scholars Lead Through Summer Service
Arthur Martin, a student at Villanova University, is serving this summer as both administrative assistant and meeting host for Recovery Your Way, a program of the Humanity Preservation Foundation. The nonprofit works to raise awareness about domestic violence, bullying and child abuse, with a focus on advocacy, education and trauma support.
In his administrative role, Arthur helps develop promotional materials, track meeting hosts and engage with community organizations to expand program reach. As a meeting host, he facilitates virtual sessions that provide safe, judgment-free spaces for individuals to share their recovery journeys. His work offers direct experience with trauma-informed care and demonstrates the importance of community-driven recovery programs.
At the University of Notre Dame, senior Kori Dupree is spending her summer as a legal intern with the Notre Dame Law School Exoneration Justice Clinic. She is contributing to reviews of potential wrongful conviction cases, supporting the development of legal arguments for exoneration, and assisting reentry efforts for individuals returning to society after incarceration.
Kori’s experience provides valuable training in criminal justice while advancing the Clinic’s mission to address systemic flaws that can lead to wrongful convictions. She is working closely with legal scholars, attorneys and professors while building her understanding of Indiana law and the broader U.S. legal system.
Both Martin and Dupree are gaining hands-on experience that highlights their leadership and commitment to service.
