Morgan Stanley Hosts Event On How to Succeed in College

Fall 2018 | Bay Area

A longtime partner of The Posse Foundation, Morgan Stanley hosted the newest class of Bay Area Scholars for Academic Immersion Day—an afternoon exploring strategies for succeeding in college.

Academic Immersion Day is part of Posse’s Pre-Collegiate Training (PCT), an eight-month program component designed to prepare new Scholars for leadership roles on campus and for the high-level academic expectations of their colleges. Immersion Day includes a lecture as well as presentations on note-taking, managing finances and accessing campus resources.

“Morgan Stanley has been so generous with their time and resources."

Posse Bay Area Advisory Board member and Morgan Stanley Managing Director David Korol was instrumental in organizing the event.

“Morgan Stanley has been so generous with their time and resources. We cannot thank them enough,” says Posse Bay Area Director Farah Elakhaoui. “Scholars learned so much about managing their finances and loved the opportunity to network with employees over lunch.”

Morgan Stanley employees have also volunteered for the Bay Area’s Dynamic Assessment Process (DAP) and served as resume coaches and writing coaches for Scholars.
