Middlebury Scholar Launches Career at Fiduciary Trust
Graduating from Middlebury College is more than a personal milestone for Jesus Pedroza—it’s a powerful statement of purpose.
“I walk away knowing that it is possible to be successful in places that were not designed for people who look like me,” he says.
This fall, Jesus begins his professional career at Fiduciary Trust Company in Boston, where he previously spent two summers as an intern. During his time there, he contributed to projects ranging from client segmentation to financial modeling, building both technical expertise and confidence in the industry. He now returns as a full-time employee—an opportunity he secured through the Posse Career Program.
“I am grateful for all the support,” Jesus reflects. “The resources I was able to access through Posse’s advocacy made all the difference.”
From Posse’s Pre-Collegiate Training through four years on campus, that support remained constant.
The resources I was able to access through Posse’s advocacy made all the difference.
“My Posse played an instrumental role in my development,” he says. “We all experienced college differently, but there was always an understanding that we were in each other’s corner.”
At Middlebury, Jesus embraced opportunities to lead and grow. Through MiddCore, a mentor-driven experiential learning program, he worked as a student consultant for LEGO, tackling real-world business challenges and developing strategic solutions. He also served on the residential life team, helping fellow students navigate the transition to college and the complexities of living in a close-knit community.
“Supporting your peers is a principle that runs through everything Posse does,” says Sergio Mojica, Posse Chicago Director. “Since its founding, the Posse Foundation has sent nearly 15,000 scholars to top colleges and universities across the country, graduating at a rate of 90 percent. This is a testament to what happens when talented students are given not just access, but a community to lean on.”
For Jesus, being a Posse Scholar means leading with empathy, acting with integrity, and moving with purpose—values that will guide him into this next chapter. “Posse is the embodiment of believing in someone,” he says. “It took me some time to see what the Posse Foundation saw in me—but that belief was always there.”
