Marketing Executive Joins Posse D.C. Advisory Board

Cheryl Janey is the newest member of the Posse D.C. Advisory Board. Cheryl, a retired Northrop Grumman executive, has worked in Virginia for the past 24 years. She currently leads a small consultancy focused on marketing and executive coaching.

Cheryl’s career has spanned marketing, business development and program management. She looks forward to contributing her creativity and adaptability to the advisory board.

“I want to bring the network that I have into Posse in order to expand their reach.”

“I am excited to focus my time using the skills I’ve gained over my 30-plus year career to do good,” says Cheryl. “I have been familiar with the work of Posse D.C. in the community. Its mission fits my own. I believe finding leaders and developing their skills early is essential not just for college success, but for lifetime growth in professional and social spaces.”

Cheryl served as emcee at Posse D.C.’s recent fundraiser, the Power of 10.

“I looked for ways to bring the energy and enthusiasm that we all feel for Posse to this event, so that we can introduce potential donors to the wonderfulness of this organization,” she says. “Fundraising is a key part of being on the advisory board. I want to bring the network that I have into Posse in order to expand their reach.”

The Posse D.C. Advisory Board is made up of 17 high-level leaders who span a range of industries. Board members work to support the success and longevity of Posse in Washington, D.C. Cheryl supports Posse D.C. along with her husband, Michael Calhoun, and son Bryan Calhoun.
