Infor CEO Joins Board, Sponsors Veterans Posse Program

Winter 2013 | National

Infor Chief Executive Officer Charles Phillips, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, joined the Posse National Board of Directors in April 2012. Infor, a leading global software company, was the first corporate sponsor of the recently launched Veterans Posse Program.

“After my Marine service, entering into private life and finding the right job was a challenge,” says Charles. “It was even tougher for veterans without college degrees. I’ve been looking for ways to help ever since.”

Introduced to Posse after becoming CEO of Infor, Charles was impressed with the program’s success and eager to become involved.

“Having Charles on the board, especially while we were developing the program for veterans, has been invaluable,” says Deborah Bial, the president and founder of Posse. “He is incredibly supportive of our veterans and dedicated to helping all Posse Scholars become successful.”

“Nothing replaces seeing students with such promising futures and big smiles thanks to Posse,” says Charles.

Charles earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Air Force Academy before beginning his commission in the U.S. Marine Corps. Forging a path to Morgan Stanley and then to the Oracle Corporation, he earned a law degree from New York Law School and an M.B.A. from Hampton University. His family foundation, Phillips Charitable Organization, distributes grants to single parents, engineering students and wounded veterans who need timely financial assistance.
