Full-Tuition College Scholarships Awarded to 122 New York Students

Spring 2014 | New York

During two evening Awards Ceremonies in January, Posse New York’s 13 partner colleges and universities awarded 122 Scholars with four-year, full-tuition scholarships worth nearly $21 million. The newest class of Scholars, selected from almost 4,000 nominated students, will graduate in 2018 and join a community of more than 550 Posse New York Scholars already on campus.

The Awards Ceremony marks the beginning of a Posse Scholar’s journey to college graduation. Before family, friends and college and university representatives, Scholars are welcomed to the Posse community, celebrating their achievements and looking toward their bright futures.

“The significance of this educational opportunity is felt among everyone in the audience,” said Posse New York Director Dena Wallerson. "Only a small percentage of nominated students receive the Posse Scholarship each year and it is an honor to recognize their accomplishments. “

“These kids are destined for greatness,” commented one parent during the ceremony.

Posse New York is grateful to The McGraw-Hill Companies for providing space for this year’s Award Ceremonies and to event co-sponsors Nielsen and The IFF Foundation.
