Forbes Under 30 Recognizes BU Scholar

Winter 2019 | Atlanta

Posse Scholar Abdullaah Robins, a sophomore at Boston University (BU) majoring in computer science, was recently named a Forbes Under 30 Scholar. Abdullaah has focused on connecting technology with education and entrepreneurship, creating opportunities for people of color.

He was nominated for the Forbes Under 30 honor by Jopwell, a diversity hiring startup that connects minority candidates with internship and job opportunities. Abdullaah currently serves as Jopwell’s BU campus ambassador.

Abdullaah exchanged ideas with leaders from across the country.

He attended the fifth annual Forbes Under 30 Summit held in Boston this past September. The event convened more than 7,000 young entrepreneurs and visionaries. It features more than 200 speakers, including investors, celebrities, and political and business leaders. During the summit, Abdullaah networked and exchanged ideas with leaders from across the country.

"If you’re not pursuing the activities, opportunities, or roles that foster your purpose, then you’re limiting your growth potential," he says.

In his extended community commitments, Abdullaah is also a Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) instructor for Boston Public Schools, where he teaches coding and robotics to third and fifth graders.

During his first year at BU, Abdullaah became a school representative for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). He now serves as NSBE secretary and helps to onboard incoming freshmen representatives.

After graduating, Abdullaah plans to return to Atlanta to work with local underserved communities.
