Lafayette Grad Connects Next Generation of Posse Alums

Winter 2018 | New York

Lafayette College Posse Alumna Jiselle Peralta, a second-grade teacher at Achievement First High School in New York City, is a member of the Posse National Alumni Advisory Council (PNAAC) and serves on the Posse New York Advisory Board.

Jiselle wanted to stay connected to Posse after graduation and immediately set her sights on becoming a PNAAC representative.

"I wanted to pay it forward because Posse did so much for me," Jiselle says. "They connected me to internships, set me up for success in my career, and gave me the opportunity to study abroad."

PNAAC representatives bring their invaluable perspectives to advisory boards in each Posse city, in addition to coordinating professional development opportunities and encouraging philanthropy, leadership and networking within the alumni community.

In New York, with its community of more than 1,500 Posse alumni, PNAAC representatives engage their peers at annual events such as the National Posse Alumni Leadership Conference, the Alumni Holiday Celebration and Alumni Induction.

As a PNAAC rep, Jiselle welcomed the Posse graduating class of 2017 into the larger Posse Alumni Network at the annual Alumni Induction ceremony.

"It inspires me to see the next generation of alumni," says Jiselle. "You see the effect of Posse on campus, but it’s not until graduation that you really see the full impact in the world."
