Evercore Senior Managing Director Joins New York Advisory Board
Michael Addeo joined the Posse New York Advisory Board in 2024 after learning about the organization from a member of the Posse National Board. The introduction quickly led Mike to want to learn more and get involved.
Mike is a senior managing director in Evercore’s Private Capital Advisory group, where he specializes in credit secondary market transactions. In his role, he advises clients on secondary market liquidity solutions across private credit assets.
Before joining Evercore, Mike spent 15 years at Blackstone Credit & Insurance, formerly GSO Capital Partners, as a credit investor. Most recently, he served as head of restructuring, leading restructuring and liability management activities, including complex transactions in the public and private credit markets.
For Mike, Posse’s mission resonates because of its focus on recognizing talented students who might be overlooked by traditional college selection or hiring processes.
“What excites me is the merit-based nature of the organization and the opportunity Posse provides to exceptional students,” says Mike.
Since getting involved, Mike says one of the most meaningful parts of his Posse experience has been meeting alumni and hearing how Posse helped shape their lives. He has also been struck by the strong bonds Scholars build with one another.
Mike’s commitment to expanding opportunity extends beyond Posse. He and his brothers established an annual scholarship for students at their alma mater, Georgetown University.
A graduate of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is a CFA charter holder. He lives in New Jersey with his wife, Carolyn, and their three children.
As Posse Scholars prepare to begin their careers, Mike encourages them to focus on relationships and reputation.
“Develop real, meaningful relationships in your personal and professional lives’” he says. “A lot of opportunities arise on account of both hard work and luck. If you are a genuinely nice person to others and always operate with your reputation in mind, you will be surprised at how many people will help you along the way and want to see you succeed.”
