Advanced Degrees Help Alumni Lead in the Workforce

Spring 2016

To support Posse alumni pursuing advanced degrees at leading institutions, Posse has affiliations with a dozen graduate programs around the country that offer a limited number of full-tuition scholarships to Posse alumni each year.

According to Posse’s 2012 Alumni Report, 41 percent of alumni who had been out of college for two or more years were either pursuing or had completed their graduate studies. Obtaining a graduate degree can be an essential and career-enhancing step for Posse alumni on their way to becoming leaders in their respective professions.

Ravi Singh, who graduated from Vanderbilt University as a Posse Scholar, received a full-tuition scholarship from Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law, a Posse graduate school affiliate. He graduated in May 2015 and accepted an offer with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, one of the top 10 international law firms.

Maureen Barradas, a Posse alumna of Carleton College, obtained her Master of Science in Public Policy and Management in 2013 through a full-tuition scholarship from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Public Policy and Management, a Posse graduate school affiliate. She now works as a senior consultant at Deloitte in Washington, D.C.
