Scholars & Alumni Win Prestigious Fellowships, Graduate School Scholarships

This year, 53 Posse Scholars and alumni won major national and international fellowship awards. These awards—Fulbright, Gilman, Mellon Mays, Watson, Humanity in Action, Peace Corps, the National Science Foundation, among others—allow Scholars and alumni to embark on teaching assistanships, independent study, international service and graduate-level research opportunities. Since 2001, Scholars and alumni have won more than 240 prestigious fellowship awards. In addition, this year six Scholars and alumni won Posse Graduate Scholarships to pursue advanced degrees at top universities affiliated with Posse. Click here for a complete list of winners.

Annual Liaison Conference a Success

The annual Posse Liaison Conference, hosted by Bank of America Merrill Lynch on June 16, was a great success. Liaisons and other representatives from Posse’s partner colleges and universities came together in New York City to discuss how best to prepare Scholars to take on leadership positions in the workforce. Posse is grateful to guest speaker Scott Barry Kaufman, the scientific director of the Imagination Institute at University of Pennsylvania, and to all the attendees for contributing to inspirational conversations about redefining merit and promoting equity in access to higher education.
