In October, Posse Los Angeles hosted its third annual Power of 10 fundraiser at the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. In celebration of Posse Los Angeles’ 10-year anniversary, the Goldman Sachs Foundation was honored for its long-term commitment to the program, beginning with their initial start-up grant in 2002.

“We are so proud to have such a long-standing relationship with Goldman Sachs,” says Tamara Craver, director of Posse Los Angeles. “They have believed in our program and in our Scholars. Their support is priceless and very much appreciated.”

“Posse continues to be an investment worth making,” said Louisa Ritter, managing director and president of Goldman Sachs Gives, who accepted the award on behalf of the Goldman Sachs Foundation.

Nearly 200 guests attended the Power of 10, which raised over $295,000 in support of Posse Los Angeles.

Emceed by Pat Harvey, award-winning broadcast journalist and co-anchor of CBS2’s weekday 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts, the event also recognized alumni of Grinnell Posse 1 and UW-Madison Posse 1 as “trailblazers” for their academic success and professional achievements.

“Being a Scholar with The Posse Foundation opened many doors of opportunity,” says Gilmar Valencia, a Posse alumnus of UW-Madison. “Today I am so grateful to have a degree from a prestigious university and to live my dream of working at Goldman Sachs.”
