Dodgers Foundation Supports Los Angeles Scholars

Summer 2016 | Los Angeles

Posse Scholars in pre-collegiate training attended a Dodgers game this summer thanks to the support of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF), which also awarded Posse Los Angeles a $5,000 grant.

“The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation is thrilled to support Posse Los Angeles,” said Nichol Whiteman, the foundation’s executive director. “Their work is aligned with our Education and Literacy Pillar. It is wonderful to see such a strong Posse here in Los Angeles and support with these outstanding young leaders as they prepare to attend top-tier colleges and universities.”

Founded in 1995, LADF’s primary focus is to support underserved youth in Los Angeles in the areas of education, recreation and health.

“The Los Angeles Dodgers are such an important part of our city’s identity,” says Posse Los Angeles Director Tamara Y. Craver. “It means a tremendous amount to our Scholars that their hometown baseball team believes in Posse as an organization and each of them as individuals.”
