Chicago Welcomes New Leadership Council Members

Winter 2016 | Chicago

Posse Chicago is thrilled to announce the addition of two members to its leadership council, a group of civic-minded professionals and leaders aligned with Posse’s mission and vision.

Ed Cooper, a senior vice president for Wells Fargo Bank, joined the bank in 2005 to help establish a new commercial banking food and agribusiness office. He has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and is responsible for new business development and client relationship management. Ed received his M.B.A. from Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management and his B.S./B.A. from John Carroll University.

Libby Smoler, an assistant brand manager for Tyson Foods, joined the company in 2015 and currently works on the Hillshire Farm brand. She has worked in loyalty marketing at Sears and started her career at media and technology start-ups in New York. Libby received her M.B.A. from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and her B.A. from Barnard College. As a volunteer Posse career coach, Libby worked with Richard Barraza, Carleton College Posse alumnus as he secured a position as Media Associate for Spark, a full-service media agency in the Starcom MediaVest Group.

“I'm inspired by the fact that for every Scholar that Posse selects, there is a much larger number of people who come into contact with them and are therefore impacted by the program as well,” says Libby. “I love that Posse seeks to create change at the highest levels—in the boardroom, in government and on campuses—and that volunteers who get involved can truly make an impact.”

Posse Chicago thanks all of its dedicated Leadership Council members for making a strong commitment to the success of our Scholars and alumni.
