Puget Sound Scholar Sings at San Francisco Showcase

Spring 2016 | Bay Area

New Scholar Simone Moore, a senior at Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts, performed at a showcase for classically trained vocalists at St. Aidan’s Church in February. One of 10 students selected for the Bay Area’s first Posse for the University of Puget Sound, Simone’s talents are but one example of the depth and diversity of her Posse.

“As we get to know our first Posse, it's incredible to have an opportunity to see a Scholar shine on stage,” says Posse Bay Area Director Leroy Foster. “We're so proud of Simone's accomplishments as a performer and we look forward to seeing how she will contribute to the arts community on campus at Puget Sound.”

In addition to performing, Simone is a student conductor for her high school choir. She leads the choir in concert and teaches music during rehearsals.

“Performing is the fun part,\" says Simone. \"It’s great to see all of the hard work pay off.”

Simone intends to study psychology, and she hopes to continue performing once she arrives on campus in the fall.
