Deloitte Supports Atlanta Scholars

Spring 2014 | Atlanta

Deloitte, a Big Four professional services firm, is a dedicated partner of The Posse Foundation. In Atlanta, the company has hosted career events for Scholars, provided space for group interviews during the Dynamic Assessment Process for potential Scholars, and many employees have served as writing and resume coaches to Scholars in Pre-Collegiate Training.

“Deloitte has been a significant corporate partner for Posse Atlanta,” says Posse Atlanta Director Zenith Houston. “Their commitment to corporate social responsibility has been demonstrated in so many ways. We look forward to expanding the relationship to provide additional career opportunities for our Scholars.”

In addition to programmatic support, Posse Atlanta’s leadership is aided by advisory board member Geri Gonzalez, a senior manager and talent business advisor for Deloitte, and volunteer Stephanie Rogers, an adoption and culture knowledge manager for Deloitte’s global knowledge services.

This summer, Chance Wren, a rising sophomore at Bard College, will be the first Scholar to intern in Deloitte’s Atlanta office. Chance, a computer science major, will work directly with the technology team to troubleshoot IT issues and support technology integration efforts for clients. After graduating from Bard, he plans to obtain a Ph.D. in computer science and become a technology services consultant at a top firm.

“I wouldn’t trade my experience at Deloitte for anything,” says Chance. “The culture here is great. There are down-to-earth, funny, experienced and focused individuals around every corner. Although I’m working in the IT department this summer, I’ll also be able to get a taste of consulting, tax, and auditing due to Deloitte’s close-knit environment.”

Posse Atlanta is grateful for the comprehensive support from Deloitte and looks forward to the continued success of the partnership.
