Northwestern University has signed on to become Posse’s newest partner institution and will begin recruiting students from Posse Los Angeles next fall.
A leading private research institution located in Evanston, Illinois, Northwestern is internationally renowned for the quality of its educational programs and is consistently ranked among the best and most competitive institutions in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
With a total of 12 undergraduate, graduate and professional schools—including an international campus in Qatar—and more than 120 undergraduate degree programs, Northwestern offers a rich variety of academic, social and experiential learning opportunities. Its 8,000 undergraduates represent all 50 states and more than 50 countries.
“As an organization devoted to increasing opportunities for nontraditional, highly qualified students, The Posse Foundation represents values that align well with Northwestern’s commitment to providing a great education to students from diverse backgrounds,” says Northwestern University President Morton Schapiro. “We’re looking forward to welcoming the first Posse cohort to Northwestern in the fall of 2013.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Northwestern as a Posse partner,” says Posse Board Chair Jeffrey Ubben. “Mort Shapiro recognizes the special strengths Posse kids will bring to campus and his leadership reflects a deep commitment to equity and excellence in higher education.”
