Posses encourage greater interaction between a university's administration and student body. They have met with university Chancellors, Presidents and Provosts to discuss campus-wide and academic issues.
Posses facilitate annual PossePlus retreats which involve hundreds of students from the general student body in discussions on academic life, race, sexuality, and student-faculty interaction.
Posses join and assist existing student organizations, sometimes helping more tentative groups to feel more comfortable voicing their concerns and achieving their goals.
Posses establish new student-run organizations on campus that continue after they graduate.
Posse Scholars, themselves, help to increase the numbers of students of color on university campuses.
Posses help the retention of non-Posse students who are not part of the majority culture by creating an inclusive community on campus.
Posses help to increase the numbers of Hispanic, African American, Asian, and other students from diverse backgrounds in the student populations at Posse Partner institutions by helping to make the campus more appealing to students from all backgrounds.
Posses contribute to the classroom dynamic by promoting more student discussion and interaction.
